Create Subscription Category Bundle in ECM

In this guide, you'll learn how to create a category bundle that customers purchase as a subscription with recurring delivery rounds. This guide builds on the Create Category Bundle Product guide, which explains how category bundles and their selection groups work.

Overview#

A subscription bundle works like a one-time category bundle, with a delivery and renewal plan on top:

  • Each payment grants the customer a number of delivery rounds, set in Rounds per purchase.
  • The customer picks the bundle's products for every delivery round, following the same selection groups.
  • When the remaining rounds run low, the subscription renews. Depending on the Payment mode, ECM either charges the customer automatically or notifies them to pay manually.
  • The price of the bundle's linked product is the amount charged per payment, covering all the rounds in Rounds per purchase.

Create a Subscription Bundle#

To create a subscription bundle:

  1. Go to Category Bundles from the sidebar.
  2. Click the Create Bundle button at the top right. This opens the "Create category bundle" form.
  3. Enter a Bundle name. ECM uses this name for the linked product it creates automatically.
  4. Keep the Subscription bundle toggle enabled. It's enabled by default, and the Subscription plan panel shows the delivery and renewal settings.

Create category bundle form with the Subscription plan panel

  1. Configure the bundle's selection groups, as explained in the Configure Bundle Groups section of the category bundle guide.
  2. Configure the delivery and renewal rules, as explained in the Configure the Subscription Plan section.
  3. Once you're done, click the Create bundle button.
Warning: Choose the bundle type before you create the bundle. You can't switch a bundle between one-time and subscription after creation.

Configure the Subscription Plan#

The Subscription plan panel holds the delivery and renewal settings of the bundle.

Delivery Schedule#

The Delivery schedule field controls when delivery rounds can occur:

Schedule

Fields to set

Description

Weekly

Delivery days

Select the weekdays when deliveries can occur.

Monthly

Day of month

Use 1-28 so each month has a valid delivery date.

Every N days

Interval in days

A delivery occurs every N days.

Yearly

Month and Day

A delivery occurs once a year on this date.

Delivery Capacity#

  • Rounds per purchase: The number of delivery rounds added after each successful charge.
  • Maximum delivery days per week: The number of delivery days the customer can select per week. For example, set it to 1 to allow one delivery per week.
  • Selection cutoff days: The number of days before a delivery when the customer's selections lock.

Renewal and Payment#

  • Renew when rounds remain: The renewal starts when this number of delivery rounds remain.
  • Payment mode: Choose Auto charge to charge the customer automatically on renewal, or Notify only to notify the customer to pay manually.
  • Subscription expiration: The subscription's lifetime in days. Leave it blank to keep the subscription active until it's cancelled.

Set the Price and Publish#

Set the price on the bundle's linked product and publish it, as explained in the Set the Bundle Price and Publish section of the category bundle guide.

For a subscription bundle, the price is the amount charged per payment, which covers the delivery rounds set in Rounds per purchase. For example, if the bundle has four rounds per purchase and the price is 2,000 THB, the customer pays 2,000 THB for every four delivery rounds.

Manage Subscriptions#

Bundle Details Page#

The bundle's details page in Category Bundles shows the number of active subscriptions that reference the bundle, and a configuration record that captures the bundle's settings so that changes don't affect existing subscriptions.

Warning: Editing a bundle that has active subscriptions affects the delivery rounds of existing subscribers. Check the subscription count on the details page before you change delivery or renewal rules.

Subscriptions Section#

Go to Subscriptions from the sidebar to manage the operational side of subscription bundles. The section shows:

  • Orders to ship: Subscription orders due in the next seven days that haven't shipped.
  • Upcoming subscription deliveries: A calendar of the deliveries scheduled for the next seven days.
  • Counters of active, expiring, and expired subscriptions.
  • The full list of subscriptions with their remaining rounds, next delivery, expiration, and status.

You can also export the list with Export CSV, or create a subscription on a customer's behalf with Create Subscription.
